I too, struggle to escape the conformity that comes with appearance and wearing make up in work environments. I don't think I'll ever be able to not wear make up to work - as I am so self conscious of my skin, that despite being make up free for 6 months, is as bad as it has ever been. But...

I completely agree about the keeping your distance thing - it evades any possibility of creepy and invasive men coming up to us and offering unwanted attention.
