I don't carry my notebook with me wherever I go, I will usually scribble a note down on my phone and then transfer it to my notebook.

But it tends to be next to me when I'm reading, or writing at the computer. I have the smallest size moleskine, which I believe is called "pocket size" Hope this helps :)
