How to Read 5 Books a Month
Is reading the one thing you have neglected that you want to get back into? If so, then following these simple steps could get you back on track.
Reading for me has always been a source of comfort and pleasure in my life, but my habits have fluctuated. Having spent three years at university doing an academic degree, I barely had time to read for pleasure. However, since graduating, I have got back into reading. Spoiler — it’s great.
Being out of work due to Covid-19 has helped, as there are more hours in the day. Having said that, even before, I would read whilst commuting to work, or even make room for a quick ten minutes in the morning.
The bottom line is, if you want to read more — you need to want it, and then commit to it.
At the start of the year, I set (what I thought) was an ambitious target of reading 50 books. 8 months in, and I’ve already read 44. This averages out about 4–5 books a month, which is more than I thought I would be able to read.
This is how I do it.
Read more than one book at a time
If you are a newbie reader or long out of practice, this may sound like an immediate no, but hear me out.
